Top Ten Steps Parents Can Take to Insure Their
Child’s Success in Awana Club

Parents are a critical part of the Awana Club Team! In order for your child to get the most out of the Awana experience, parents need to do their part! Your partnership with us in this effort is essential. Here are ten practical steps you can take that will ensure your child’s success in the Awana Club this year.

1. ENSURE THAT YOUR CHILD ATTENDS EVERY WEEK. Consistency will build friendships and inspire the dedication needed for achievement.

2. ENSURE THAT YOUR CHILD GETS TO CLUB ON TIME. Promptness helps us maintain good discipline. Club starts promptly at 6:30 pm.

3. ENSURE THAT YOUR CHILD WEARS THEIR UNIFORM TO CLUB. Proper display of awards contributes greatly to a sense of achievement. Awana awards cannot be given to a clubber who is not wearing his/her uniform.

4. ENSURE THAT YOUR CHILD’S DUES ARE PAID EACH WEEK. Weekly dues are $.50 per clubber per week. Dues defray the cost of the awards.

5. HELP YOUR CHILD PREPARE FOR CLUB EACH WEEK. Spend time as a parent reading and reviewing the handbook material with your child.

6. PICK UP YOUR CHILD PROMPTLY EACH WEEK AT 8:00 PM. Our staff has duties to attend to after club is over.

7. HELP US WITH THE RULES.

A. Clothing rules:
Uniform shirts and modest apparel for all
Sneakers or closed-toe shoes must be worn.
Oversized or baggy clothes are dangerous on the game circle.

A. Behavior rules:
Clubbers are expected to be respectful to others and of other’s property
Clubbers are expected to obey instructions and direction of Awana Leaders

8. ATTEND ALL MAJOR EVENTS. You will receive invitations to special events that are going on at the church and your child’s club from time to time.

9. SIGN AND RETURN EVENT CONSENT FORMS.

10. CALL the church office or your Awana Commander if you have any problems or questions, or contact your child’s director.
